Save Windermere's Work Continues to Drive Progress on Pollution Reduction

It is encouraging to see the positive dialogue between Matt Staniek - Save Windermere and Louise Beardmore, CEO of United Utilities, for a cleaner, healthier Windermere.

The work of Save Windermere has played a significant role in keeping water quality at the forefront of public discussion and pushing for meaningful action to protect one of our most treasured landscapes. Their persistence and evidence-led approach continue to drive progress towards a future free from sewage pollution in the catchment.

CRKC have previously met with Louise Beardmore and received the same commitment to improving the health of the River Kent. While every catchment faces its own challenges, it is encouraging to hear a shared recognition that our rivers and lakes deserve better and that investment and action must follow.

We welcome the commitments being made and look forward to seeing these ambitions translated into tangible outcomes for both Windermere and the River Kent.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the Save Windermere campaign on helping drive this conversation forward. There is still much work to do, but positive change is only possible when people are prepared push for it.
