CRKC Reviews Government’s “New Vision for Water” Amid Political Shifts

CRKC has produced an interim statement on our views of the Water White Paper. A New Vision for Water, published by the government in January 2026.

We are currently consulting with volunteers and supporters to help shape our final position on the Government’s plans for the water sector and next steps for our campaigning. In finalising our position, we will also take account of relevant changes in the national political situation.

Phase 2 of MST Study Now in Progress

Having completed Phase 1 of the MST testing, the University of Sheffield has now started work on Phase 2 which will focus on biofilm and passive sampler (“torpedo”) samples collected by citizen scientists from the Clean River Kent Campaign (CRKC) during the summer of 2024.

The integration of biofilm-associated MST data will provide a more comprehensive understanding of microbial contamination persistence, transport, and health risks associated with the River Kent.
